Two Olive Baboons copulating

Two Olive Baboons, Papio anubis, copulating on the sandy bed (lugga) of a dried-up river in Buffalo Springs National Reserve, part of the Samburu complex of reserves in northern Kenya.

Olive Baboons are found in many African countries and they are able to exploit very diverse habitats, including very arid areas. They are adaptable and opportunistic and are the Baboons most likely to be seen on East African safaris. They can be seen from single animals to large groups, and their interactions are always interesting to watch.
