Front of Charing Cross Station, London

The front of Embankment Place, a landmark, nine-storey building above Charing Cross Station in central London, England.

Embankment Place is a post-modern steel-framed building (which to my untrained eye has a hint of ‘Art Deco’ about it) constructed in the ‘air rights’ area above Charing Cross Station, near the notional ‘centre of London’.

It was designed by Sir Terry Farrell as an office and shopping complex, and opened in 1990, and the design won several awards.
