A Blue Tit on Hawthorn Berries

A Blue Tit, Cyanistes caeruleus, fka Parus caeruleus, perched on a twig with hawthorn berries (haws) against a natural, defocussed background.

Blue Tits are delightful little birds which are familiar in Scotland and throughout the UK in woodlands, parks, gardens and other habitats. They readily come to bird feeders, where they often demonstrate their acrobatic skills in feeding upside down. They can also be persuaded to take food from open hands, particularly in snowy or frozen weather conditions.
